THEATRE
As an award winning playwright Serena Piccoli writes comedies, radio drama, short plays and monologues on contemporary issues as gender violence, economic crisis, pollution, social injustice, and also historical events.
She received her MA in Theatre from the University of Venice, IUAV, and her 30 plays are produced throughout Italy.
Assistant director at Biennale Theatre Festival in Venice 2011 for the show Envidia, directed by Calixto Bieito at the Gran Teatro La Fenice Theatre, Venice
Playwright at Biennale Dance Festival in Venice 2011 for the Choreographers Vito Alfarano’s and Laura Boato’s students dance show in Venice for the international project "Choreographic collision" directed by Ismael Ivo.
She worked on the script of “Estman Radio” by Marinella Senatore, a radio drama broadcast by Rai Radio 2 and in the Italian Pavillion at the Biennale Art in Venice in June 2011.
Internship at Gran Teatro La Fenice Theatre in Venice 2009- 2010 organizing conferences on Opera
“Non ne usciamo vive”, one of her plays, has been set in Palermo, Rome, Cesena, Milan and in one of the most important museums of the city of Turin (Italy) “Pinacoteca Albertina” in front of Laura Boldrini, the former President of the Italian Senate in 2014.
She has directed and staged comedies and short plays.
She has also produced International multidisciplinary art events featuring live performance and video installation, at both indoor and outdoor theatres.
"The rope of love" is one of her most successful comedies, written and directed by Serena and staged in many historical landmarks in northern Italy, as renaissance arenas and 19th century theatres.

She is the organiser of a series of conferences on and historical re-enactments of Italian Middle Age and Renaissance life and art, dedicated to the education and preservation of Italian culture.
She usually holds drama workshops for children aged 3-15.
As both a poet, performer and arts activist, Serena has performed widely at Theatre Festivals.
